This function can be used to zero out a 2d spectrum without having to stop acquisition (To zero all the 1d/2d spectra use Spectra -Zero Spectra from the main menu). This is useful e.g. while adjusting the amplifier gains of a telescope while allowing statistics to accumalate in other ADCs.
